Objectives/purpose of the job:

The AI Engineer plays a crucial role in developing capabilities essential for constructing personalized adaptive learning technologies. These technologies aim to facilitate effective, efficient, and engaging learning experiences.

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Adhere to ethical standards and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
2. Develop AI/ML models to achieve objectives outlined by Senior or Principal AI Engineers.
3. Collaborate with data scientists to build data ingest and data transformation infrastructure.
4. Implement effective methods for AI/ML model testing during development, deployment, and recalibration.
5. Train and retrain machine learning models, providing metrics to document and track their performance.
6. Explore data, identifying differences in data distribution that could impact performance in prototypes.
7. Utilize best practices in design, coding, automated unit, regression testing, and deployment of AI/ML models to production.
8. Stay current with the latest AI research in personalized learning and assessment fields.
9. Apply best practices in the responsible use of AI.
10. Work closely with learning scientists and data scientists to define collection events and data transformations for personalized learning.
11. Collaborate with Product Owners to understand potentials and limitations of AI/ML in the product.
12. Operate effectively within the agile-at-scale framework.
13. Clearly communicate findings to senior leadership.

Required experience and qualification:

• Experience with Python-based AI/ML frameworks, Java, and/or R.
• Proficiency with ML frameworks (such as Keras or PyTorch) and libraries (like scikit-learn).
• Knowledge and practical application of statistical analysis and mathematical modeling concepts.
• Experience with cloud-based (AWS) deployment of models, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Docker and Git.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
