Objectives/purpose of the job:

The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a retail store, ensuring excellent customer service, meeting sales targets, managing team performance, and maintaining brand and operational standards. This role requires strong leadership, operational acumen, and a good understanding of retail dynamics and brand alignment.

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Sales & Business Development

  • Achieve and exceed store sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Analyze sales trends and develop strategies for business growth.
  • Maximize store profitability through effective merchandising, inventory control, and team productivity.

2. Customer Experience

  • Ensure a consistently exceptional in-store customer experience.
  • Handle customer complaints and escalations professionally.
  • Maintain a welcoming, brand-aligned store environment.

3. Team Management

  • Hire, train, and mentor store staff.
  • Manage rosters, leave planning, and staff performance appraisals.
  • Motivate the team to meet individual and store-level goals.

4. Store Operations

  • Oversee visual merchandising, store cleanliness, and compliance with brand guidelines.
  • Manage inventory, replenishment, stock movement, and shrinkage control.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

5. Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly sales and inventory reports.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, health and safety norms, and audit standards.

Required experience and qualification:

  • Graduate in any discipline (Certification in Retail Management preferred).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in retail, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a passion for retail excellence.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
  • Willingness to work in shifts, on weekends, and during holidays as required.
